For years I've seen Carleson Cadillac license plate covers and wanted one for sentimental value. I regularly jog past an old Cadillac that had one on it. Once I left a note on the dashboard, asking the owner to call me if he were interested in giving/selling it to me. He kindly phoned me but liked and wouldn't part with the plate cover. He suggested I contact Carleson Body Shop and mentioned that if it were missing from his car, he'd know who had it. Aargh!
I even posted a request on Craig's List. I received one response that said "I have what you want"... didn't open that one.
Several months passed and one night, when Rachel and Dave were over for dinner, she announced a surprise and pulled out a sack. Look what was inside!
Rachel had noticed the plate cover on the back of an older Cadillac, driven by a matching older couple. She followed them and carefully approached them when they exited their car, explaining to them about her eccentric mother and asked if they were willing to part with it. To make a long story short, she bought them a new cover and drove all the way to PARK CITY for delivery! What a WONDERFUL DAUGHTER!!
