Old Enough to Read Fairy Tales Again

2014 is already a Ryser milestone year.
We may have the blessing of welcoming four grandchildren into our family.

#1 Julian was born to Ted and Elise on January 29th.

The 5th in a line of James Rysers: James Joseph Sr, James Joseph Jr, Randall James, Ted James and
Julian James Ryser.

#2 and 3 - Rachel and Dave still have "their" girls. Rachel let them decorate her arms:

One of my favorite things is to read with the girls. The two-year-old has gone from not seeming to know what a book was to taking them on outings instead of her doll. She loves to snuggle up for a story with me. And big sister has improved her reading skills with Rachel and Dave's coaching.

#4 - Lastly, Maggie and Al are expecting a little Long baby in August!

How tender it is to watch our once little ones raising little ones. I read in my 1982 journal
"The first 10 days with Rachel have been delightful. I'm getting used to being on-call and changing diapers isn't all that awful (yea diaper service)." I explained how fulfilling it was to be engaged in an eternal cause. Being parents teaches us much about our relationship with God, how much He loves us and provides opportunities to learn Christlike traits in no other way.

And I was a little one once too! (thanks for the photos, Tom)
