Jordan River Parkway

Once when I took Kira (Rachel and Dave's dog) for a walk, I discovered the Jordan River and its trail. Salt Lake residents have preserved the area and it is delightful!  It includes "45 miles of nearly continuous, non-motorized, paved trail, as well as equestrian trails, parks, urban fisheries, natural areas and other activities." Eventually it will connect to the Legacy Parkway Trail and continue to Utah Lake for 76 miles of paved trail.

Over the last couple of years I'd tackle a section (which means I'd usually do twice the mileage because I had to walk back to my car). Rand and I rode our bikes on the 21st to 6th South section (graffiti galore). So here's a video I made of some of the pictures I took along the way. Makes me proud that we Utahns appreciate the outdoors!

Speaking of proud, my brother, Tom is hiking the

Appalachian Trail. 

He's already finished the 100 mile wilderness in Maine and almost to the "Killer Mile"called the Mahoosuc Notch.  Amazing man!
